May 13, 2009

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man shot his ex-girlfriend to death before killing himself in the woman's Franklin Township home sometime overnight, police said.

The bodies were discovered inside an apartment in the 5400 block of Boggs Creek Ct. just before noon Wednesday after the woman's sister told police she hadn't been able to reach her, said Sgt. Matthew Mount.

Investigators said Caitlin Walter, 21, appeared to have been shot by Matthew Ford, 28, who then shot himself.

Walter and Ford had been in a relationship, but Walter had broken it off, police said.
